Source Analyses

The Berlin Historical Review also publishes historical source analyses of any kind. If you have found and analysed an interesting source we would like to publish it in our journal to share your findings with other historians from around the world.

We welcome commentaries on various types of sources, no matter whether it is a historical document, a photograph, a  painting, a monument, a map, a statistical table, an interview you have conducted, a video or a film that you are examining. Authors are expected to provide as much detail as possible on the source chosen, and should contextualise the source and its wider implacations in their analysis.

Word Limit

A historical source analysis should be of approximately 300-2500 words in length. Please footnote and reference any secondary literature that you have used.
