Quality Control
As an open-access research journal the Berlin Historical Review operates the same quality control system as other printed and subscription based academic journals. All submissions sent to the Berlin Historical Review for consideration are expected to meet standards of academic excellence and are subject to a rigorous internal review process.
First, every submission will be evaluated by at least two of our permanent editors. Promising manuscripts will be sent on to another member of our editorial team for further review. Upon recommendation by the reviewing editorial board members, articles will then be forwarded to the respective specialist for final, anonymous review.
Those manuscripts selected for publication then undergo another final round of revision and re-evluation. Every article published in the Berlin Historical Review will have been reviewed by at least four editors in total.
